I’m Hiya Ahuja, and I’m still buzzing with excitement from what has truly been a life-changing adventure in Dubai. I’m thrilled to finally share some of the highlights from my recent experience—an incredible journey made possible by the amazing team at NIF Global.
Thanks to NIF, I got the opportunity to be part of both the vibrant Dubai Residential Programme and the glamorous Dubai Fashion Week. And trust me, it was a whirlwind of learning, laughter, and unforgettable moments!
Walking into Dubai Fashion Week felt like stepping into an entirely new world. I had the privilege of being on the front-of-house team, where I learned how major international fashion events are run—live and in action. It was an intense crash course in managing high energy, organizing crowds, and ensuring smooth experiences for everyone involved.
The best part? I even got the chance to support backstage and work closely with some truly inspiring designers. Witnessing their creativity up close and being part of the production magic was beyond inspiring!
And then came a surreal moment—I showcased one of my own handmade creations on the Dubai Fashion Week platform! Seeing something I poured my heart into displayed on such a prestigious stage was incredibly rewarding. That moment has permanently fueled my creative fire.
But this journey wasn’t just about fashion. The Dubai Residential Programme was equally enriching. From magical cruise parties under the stars to soaking in the city’s electric nightlife, every day was filled with new experiences. Dubai’s energy is contagious, and the opportunity to connect with fellow creatives from across the world made it even more special.
It wasn’t just fun—it was transformative. I learned, explored, laughed, danced, and made memories that will stay with me forever.
This experience has left me with one powerful realization:
Don’t wait for the “perfect” time—make this time perfect.
Life will always come with challenges, but the key is to dive in, learn along the way, and create your own path. Waiting for everything to be ‘just right’ can hold you back from discovering what you’re truly capable of.
To all the budding designers out there:
Listen to that inner voice. In a world full of trends, opinions, and noise, your intuition is your most powerful guide. Follow what feels authentic to you. Let your creativity lead the way. The journey may have ups and downs, but the joy of creating something from your soul is unmatched.
My time in Dubai—immersed in the world of fashion and the vibrant culture of the city—has been more inspiring than words can express. I return home with a fresh perspective, so much new knowledge, and an even deeper drive to chase my design dreams.
